My husband and I recently embarked on our highly-anticipated honeymoon in the Maldives, a destination we chose to celebrate this special occasion. First and foremost, the honeymoon villa we were assigned left much to be desired. The Wok, the third restaurant, offered a decent experience but was not something we would frequent.
Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of our stay was the construction work that started on three of the honeymoon villas just a day after our arrival. It was an incredible experience and exceeded our expectations by far. The island is so beautiful inside a reef with so many fish arround. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food was unbelievable and the cocktail drinks were crazy good. In addition to that we were able to do a coupe unforgettable experience such as scuba diving and jet skiing. It felt like a dream! We are already planning our next trip!

We would highly recommend this resort. As mentioned in other reviews, the service was great, the villa attendants and hosts were all very warm. The resort is very clean. All the processes were easy and seamless. Needless to say, the vista was lovely. The food was amazing - the variety and the flavors were commendable.
Really appreciate the presence of the Indian counter - the dishes were yummy. Special thanks to Chefs Suresh, Jeevan and Deepak for looking out for us! Just Grill and Just Wok restaurants were also fantastic. Luckily, they have a gym - so make sure you bring your gym shoes if you would like to use it. As guests get one spa session every 4 nights, we had 2 spa sessions very relaxing. I tried the regular oil massage and a dry massage with stretching and felt both were quite nice.
We took a snorkeling lesson with Afrah - who was a very good teacher. Even without knowing swimming, I was able to learn the basic skills needed to enjoy the activity. We had a great experience during the house reef snorkeling session. We also went out for the sunset fishing trip - the staff were helpful and guided us through the process.
You can do kayaking and paddleboating everyday, weather permitting. We had a very nice time chilling at Sangs during the evening - Live Music with Emmanuel was great! During the first 4 days of our stay, it was very sunny and bright. During the next 4 days, it was rainy, cloudy and windy.

Our accommodation was of the Beach Villa type, these villas are located on the less windy south side of the island.
It has its own sunbed and umbrella, and the villas are completely separated from each other, ensuring privacy. The villa was well-equipped, spacious, satisfying all needs, with a beautiful outdoor bathroom.
It is worth diving on the beach in front of the restaurant and the pool, here a rope stretched on the inner edge of the reef makes snorkeling easier in case of stronger currents.

During the stay, 12th August till 16th August it was my wife and I honeymoon and our birthday as well. They makes a special decor to our room for the anniversary and birthday cake as well. I felt it was the safer option over the lovely water villa, a bit high for adventurous kids. They clean two times a day, having an evening turn down in the villa. We stayed in a beach villa the entire time, it was very spacious, beautiful, clean, so it was perfect! I especially liked how much green vegetation surrounded us. And the coast in front of us was beautiful!
On the main island are the beach villas, the main restaurant where we had the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the adult island there are 2 restaurants, a grill and wok with a la carte menu, a small pool and the Spa.
These activites were all professional organized and the staff was really friendly. Amazing experience, I strongly recommend everyone to visit this great place! Shortly after our arrival at the Male airport, we were able to find the kiosk for the resort and the representative there, tagged our bags and asked us to wait until the speedboat arrived, which was about 45minutes later.
The speedboat ride was comfortable, the staff friendly and we arrived at the resort in about 50 minutes. Upon our arrival, we were greeted to the beats of traditional Maldivian music and received a warm welcome from the staff. We were shown around and the inclusions of our plan were explained to us.
Needless to say the place is serenely beautiful, the water villas have a luxurious yet understated charm and the in-room bar is replenished daily. The staff is warm, welcoming, helpful and polite.
Utmost attention is paid to the quality of service. There are several buggies to take the resort guests to and from, different locations all over the resort which is great since the villas both water villas and beach villas are a bit further afield from the activity hub.
The resort has a plethora of activities and excursions and the food at their main restaurant The Courtyard, is quite delectable. There is a wide variety of cuisines to choose from and the drinks are simply splendid. Even checkout process was smooth and a speedboat transfer to the airport was arranged for within the hour. All in all it was an experience par excellence.
I would recommend this resort to anyone without any hesitation and would love to stay at Oblu Select Sangeli, even on my next trip to The Maldives. We only had a wait time of 60mins. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception staff along with a welcome drink and the beat of Maldivian music. We were given a quick tour of the island and the facilities available. The beach villa was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had free WiFi everywhere. Rooms were cleaned everyday, despite the rains. We had clean linen and the minibar which was restocked everyday without fail.
The restaurant manager Mr. Safwan, is truly an example of great hospitality. He always went above and beyond to make our time at the resort wonderful.
His leadership quality is highly commendable. Everyone around us were cheerful and wore a contagious smile. It never felt like we were strangers on the island.
Definitely felt like home away from home. We had the Oblu app which made life so much easier. All the activities and events were updated on the app. The excursions were sufficient and fun. Had a great time snorkeling for the first time and getting to see many sea creatures. Food and beverages are available from 7am till 10pm.
Which is perfect for a relaxed holiday. There is a dive center on the island, which offered more paid activities. On our last day we had paid for the over water villa with a pool upgrade. To our huge surprise Mr. Amandeep gave us a free upgrade to a honeymoon villa. It was a dream come true. The beauty of the villa is indescribable. On check out, instructions were crystal clear and we had a prompt transfer back to the airport. There was no hidden or extra charges.
We were allowed to have lunch at the restaurant due to our late evening flight. It was hard to say goodbye to each and everyone. We were given a slice of cake wishing us a safe flight. The thoughtfulness of everyone is well appreciated.

They have the best spa and the best massage in the world, seriously, is an experience you need to live! The beach is the best beach we ever been.

We will be back! From the greeting at the airport, the welcoming on the island and the personal introduction to resort and room everything was on point.
